Instructions for manual USDC (Ethereum) → TAO (Subtensor EVM)

Bridge from Ethereum → Subtensor EVM (Hyperlane)

Recommended: use the TaoFi Bridge and TaoFi Swap (cards at the top of this page) to bridge USDC from Ethereum to Subtensor EVM and then swap USDC → TAO. These cards use Hyperlane and the on‑chain DEX under the hood.

1. Prepare your wallet

  • Open MetaMask and switch to the Ethereum mainnet.
  • Make sure you have USDC to bridge and a small amount of ETH for gas.

2. Open the TAOFI Bridge

Go to https://taofi.com/bridge

3. Select routes and token

  • Select origin token: USDC (Ethereum).
  • Select destination token: USDC (Subtensor EVM).
  • Enter the amount and review the estimated fees.

4. Bridge USDC

  • Click Bridge / Send and confirm the transaction in MetaMask.
  • Wait for finalization. You will receive USDC on Subtensor EVM.

5. (Open the TaoFi Swap)

  • Go to https://taofi.com/swap
  • Select USDC (Subtensor) as the origin token and TAO (Subtensor) as the destination token.
  • Confirm the swap in MetaMask. Your TAO will be on Subtensor EVM.

6. Tips

  • Keep a little ETH (Ethereum) and a little TAO (Subtensor EVM) for gas.
  • If you don’t see the token, add the USDC/TAO token to MetaMask on Subtensor EVM.
TAO (Finney/Mainnet) → TAO (Subtensor EVM)

Here are the steps to bridge from Finney(Mainnet) Tao to EVM Tao

1. Set up the two wallets

  • SS58 wallet (Subtensor): Polkadot JS, Talisman, or BTCLI with some TAO on the Finney mainnet.
  • H160 wallet (EVM): MetaMask. Add the "Subtensor" network.

2. Open the official bridge

Go to https://bridge.bittensor.com/ and pick Mainnet (Finney) for real TAO.

3. Connect both wallets

  • Click CONNECT H160 WALLET and approve the MetaMask pop-up.
  • Click CONNECT SS58 WALLET and choose your Subtensor account.
  • You should now see free balances for both sides.

4. Create the transfer

  • Choose the direction SUBTENSOR → EVM (sending from your SS58 wallet to MetaMask).
  • Enter the TAO amount or press MAX. The form shows:
    • Net amount the recipient will get
    • Estimated bridge fee (usually well under 0.02 TAO)
    • Existential deposit reminder (leave about 0.005 TAO in the SS58 wallet)
  • Click DEPOSIT and sign the transaction in your SS58 wallet.
